We are a group of youth led Samba drummers who practice for 1hr a week!
In July 2006 a small group of Samba Drummers went down to Brighton. When we were there we met up with a samba group at Varndean High School. This was a bit scary at first but in the end it turned out to be the best part of the trip. We taught each other some new Samba beats and breaks. The Band from Brighton inspired us to make a bigger band and become youth-led.
In August 2006 with around 12 Drummers and grew to the band we are now of 21. The Band is led by 3 young people who, between them, the have around 20 years drumming experience.

Our past performances include: The Young Edinburgh Awards, The Leith Festival, The Edinburgh Mela, The Edinburgh Fringe Cavalcade, Ocean Terminal, The ‘Save Meadowbank Stadium’ march, The Festival Theatre Fanfare Concert, Princess Street Gardens Sports Relief, 3 shows at Duncan Place Arts and Education Centre (which is also where we rehearse) and most recently at the May Day Rally through Princes Street!

We are currently planing a residential trip, a short tour, to the European City of Culture, Liverpool where we will play in the Liverpool Lord Mayor's Parade. Unfortunately it means that we won't e able to play at this years Leith Festival. More details about Liverpool to follow soon...
